Nigerian Delegates Arrive Spain for 2008 Zaragoza EXPO PDF Print E-mail
In its determination to attract foreign direct investment to the nation’s economy, the Nigerian Government has sent a 15- member delegation to attend the opening ceremony of the Expo Zaragoza 2008 which will hold in Zaragoza, Spain on Friday, June 13, 2008. 
 
Leading the Nigerian delegation is Elizabeth Emuren, the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Commerce and Industry, who is also the Chair Person of the National Planning Committee of the Expo.
 
The delegation is expected at Nigeria’s National Day and Investment Forum which will hold on August 21 and 22 respectively. 
 
The Delegation is made up of officials of the Federal Ministry of Commerce and Industry, heads of Parastatals under the Ministry and representatives of the organized private sector.
 
Over 120 participating countries are expected to take part in the opening ceremony after which the Expo site will be officially opened to the general public on Saturday, June 14.
            
Nigeria’s theme at the Expo is “Water for Life”. This reflects the theme of the Expo Zaragoza 2008 “Water and Sustainable Development” which focuses on the importance of water to the present and future generations.
